Nicotine-Free Vape Liquid
Recap: E-liquids are available in a variety of nicotine strengths including 20mg/ml, 10mg/ml, and 0mg/ml. The latter is called zero-nicotine or nicotine-free vape liquid.
What is a nicotine-free vape liquid?
Vapes are better than smoking for a host of reasons. Most of all, it’s because of the kind of control it offers the user. Unlike cigarettes, vaping liquids are available in varying nicotine strengths – 36 mg, 20 mg, 10 mg. In recent years, the nicotine strength that has gained much popularity is 0 mg, which means no nicotine. E-liquid without any nicotine at all is called nicotine-free vape liquid.
Virtually every well-established, well-known e-liquid brand makes nicotine-free vape liquid. There are many benefits of eliminating nicotine from your vaping experience, first and foremost being that you avoid nicotine and its addictive quality.
While it’s ideal to vape with nicotine-free e-liquid, it’s best not to jump into it. Omitting nicotine use all at once makes it more likely you will give up on vaping without nicotine. So make it a point to reduce nicotine use gradually.
Getting used to nicotine-free vaping
One of the first things you will notice once you switch to nicotine-free vaping is that it doesn’t give you a hit or a buzz. You may also notice a vastly reduced throat hit. If you’re the kind of vaper who wasn’t particularly fond of that, it’s all great. Zero-nicotine vaping is smooth on the way in so you get to focus more on the vape’s flavour and warmth without any irritating sensations in your throat.
However, if you’re the sort who associates a strong throat hit with vaping satisfaction, then you can try a few tricks.
If you like the throat hit
Getting used to zero-nicotine vaping is a journey. To still get minimal throat hit, choose minty flavours and coolants that contain menthol. Menthol gives a cooling sensation similar to nicotine and will quickly allow you to grow accustomed to it.
Another way of getting used to zero-nicotine is choosing strong flavours that naturally lean toward giving you a throat hit. Flavours that mimic the throat-hit effect include citrus varieties like grapefruit and lemon and spicy flavours like cinnamon.
Reducing your nicotine strength gradually…
You’ve taken the first step toward reducing your nicotine strength as soon as you’ve shifted to vaping. The next best thing you can do is to look at various e-liquid formulations and choose a brand that offers a gradation of strengths – 20 mg/ml, 15 mg/ml or 10 mg/ml, and 0mg/ml nicotine.
The difference between nicotine vaping and nicotine-free vaping can be somewhat dramatic. It will still be dramatic even if you were to switch from a 3mg/ml nicotine strength to zero nicotine. Don’t be discouraged by how noticeable or difficult it may seem at first.
